My brother recently visited this shelter, chose a specific kitten he wanted to adopt, and filled out the adoption application. A week later, since he hadn't heard back, he reached out and was told they had lost his application and he needed to fill it out again. He did so right away.
When he followed up a few days later, the shelter informed him that they had already given the cat to someone else - even though he had clearly stated from the beginning which specific kitten he wanted.
This is extremely disappointing and shows a lack of responsibility and organization from the staff. He had just moved into his new apartment and was ready to give that kitty a loving home and a better life. Instead, he was met with carelessness.
It's very upsetting to see how poorly managed this process was. The staff here act recklessly, the lives of animals and the hopes of adopters are far too important to be handled with such carelessness.

My daughter visited here to adopt a kitten. Adoption application was denied with no explanation. She emailed and called several times to find out why the appl was denied, got no response. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend!! Would give zero stars if i could. Im happy to say my daughter now has a kitten given to her by a friend, hes adorable.

Very disappointing and saddening experience. After 2 weeks of filling out the application, and a week after visiting in person to make a connection our application was denied due to the basis of "failing to meet requirements." Once we reached out to see what these requirements we failed to meet were, and receive some clarity on the situation, we were completely ignored. No criminal record, own our own house, mid twenties, no kids, plenty of references and a prior relationship with a veterinarian. I truly have no clue what could possibly be the reason that we were declined. It saddens me to think that these animals might be deprived of a home due to wanton choices made by 1 person with no way of receiving clarification. I hope that in the future other people will be able to have a better experience than I have, but would advise anyone to exercise caution.
