Since 1993 The Cultured Pearl has been responsible for bringing the art of sushi into the lives of hundreds of thousands. Susan Townley Wood, the designer and proprietor, has created an atmosphere that is unique in the restaurant industry. From the Pearl's long-term staff to its loyal customer base the energy and passion Susan brings is evident in us all. Part of her secret is to always keep them guessing. What will the new construction bring? What new delicious dishes are on the next menu release? The excitement builds with each new project completed! With what we believe is the strongest kitchen in the area the food will never disappoint. Created and prepared by Susan's husband Robert along with many of the Eastern Shore's top chefs. Susan's design and decorating is sure to please. Always keeping in mind, and respecting, traditional Japanese architecture Susan has created an environment full with bamboo, flowing water, Koi and live birds. The Pearl boasts a 15,000 gallon rooftop "lake" that is home to many aquatic species and hosts diners nightly in the raised gazebos. Her desire for the best has shown itself in our magnificently crafted sushi bar and drinking bar tops. Made from a single black walnut tree the two bars together measure nearly 50 feet.
Staying true to their own family needs, Susan and Robert have created a Family Dining environment which allows parents to bring their children into a fine dining restaurant without feeling unwelcome. Chef Robert has also designed a Children's Menu based on his own daughters' likes. Teriyaki, Tempura and Sushi alongside ever changing other kid friendly treats that make for a well received and nutritious meal for the next generation of Pearl devotees.

I highly recommend the cultured pearl if your in the area! My partner and I were in the area for a day trip and just looking for a nice place for dinner. We did not regret trying out The Cultured Pearl! Although they were busy on a Friday night, we were seated right away! We were given a couple different options for where we could sit, which was great instead of just being put where ever was available! The hostess was super sweet and helpful! Our waitress was a bit quiet, very straight forward with helping us but she was very attentive and made sure we got everything we needed! They have daily special that were great! The drinks were made very well. The variety of steamed edamame was very interesting, we tried the eastern edamame and it was delicious, they even provided moist towelettes for us since it was a bit messy! Great touch! The sushi was delicious, they had some unique options that I've never seen before! My partner got a meat sampler that was amazing! The meat fell right off the bone. For dessert we split the banana tempera. While I didn't care for warm banana, it was delicious! The decorations were beautiful and very suiting for the theme. The price for everything wasn't as bad as I thought it would be for an appetizer, two alcoholic drinks, two entrees and a dessert, the total only came up to about $100 before tip. A great experience!

The Cultured Pearl Bar and Restaurant in Rehoboth, Delaware holds a special place in my heart! My family and I have been dining here for over 10 years since we started coming Rehoboth, and it never fails to impress. The staff and service, food, and zen atmosphere are the key elements that make this restaurant truly outstanding!
Our waiter of choice, Garrett, is simply the best. He is incredibly professional, nice, and has a great sense of humor. Garrett is experienced and knowledgeable about the menu. He is always on top of our table without us having to ask, making our dining experience seamless and enjoyable.
The food at The Cultured Pearl is exceptional. My favorite dishes include the bibimbap which is very authentic and the Korean beef is always cooked perfectly. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious and always plated beautifully. All the specials are also outstanding, and the Korean cauliflower is a must-try. Every single drink on the menu is fantastic. I’ve enjoy the sake flight, salted caramel martini, espresso martini and mango margaritas.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for family dinners for night out. I look forward to visiting the adorable koi fish when I go too. The Cultured Pearl will always be our go to spot! If you’re looking for a place with great food, impeccable service, and a welcoming ambiance, this is it. 🫶🏼🍱🎏

The most disappointing sushi dinner and experience at Rehoboth Beach ever.
When we arrived we were told that we absolutely needed to vacate our table before 7:30 , because a reservation was coming in to take our table. WOW, we've never been told to get out of a restaurant because someone else's reservation was more important than ours.
So, we really wanted to order happy appetizers. We were sternly told that only bar tables were aloud to order happy hour exclusive. Very disappointed we got a table, and we're told we need to finish diner and be finished and pay by 7:30 for their next table. WOW! We are customers also, been coming here for the last several years.. Nope, Not any more. This restaurant had so many open tables, inside, as well outside. We are appalled.
Our sushi rolls were even the size of happy hour apps., yet at a regular table charged full price. Very disappointed. Also my noodles tasted rotten, not fermented, just gross. Our server never really asked. It was a slow night. I know, because I've worked so many restaurants across this great country of ours. This place now falls upon the percent of unsafe places to eat.
Folks, this place has fallen off the deep end and now has cheaper ingredients as well poor service.
There are so many more sushi restaurants that truly deserve our services.
Extremely recommend not this black pearl place. Go somewhere that has fresher raw fish, better customer service and cares for their clients.
Even the portions of sushi were very small. I wonder if the servers are jipping the clients with happy hour sizes and chargingfull price. Very disappointed and after years of coming here....never again.
