The Beach House Restaurant

Told we were getting a penthouse
Room had wallpaper ripped ans coming off walls and the carpet was ripped and torn had part missing from transition for room into bathroom. Fridge did not work and room temperature was 88 degrees when they told us to go to room. Also main issue they keep huge trash can right by the elevator you step off the elevator and have to maneuver aroumd full trash can that smells like some dark alley to open the glass door into the room hallway. Disgusting. At least clean your trash can and move the dang thing so when the elevator doors open to the "Penthouses" you are not met with trash dump smell and literally over filled trash can. Room service came to our door ans saod do you want service we said yes please. They never came! We had no towels or wash clothes and a bunch of used towels. We told management they did nothing. They didn't give a rip. Save yourself some money and grief go somewhere else!

Last minute trip so we took the only room available room on 4th of July. There are 2 sections of this hotel, a cottage style section and hotel which is more up to date (I can't comment on that section because we stayed in the cottage). These rooms were dated and gives cabin vibes, ours had a kitchenette with small eating area. The room was clean but there were a few stains on the couch but it is an old place. The bed was soft and comfortable, the bathroom is small and so was the shower. The staff was great, the pool area was clean and enjoyable. I'd probably stay again but book the hotel side. Steps to the beach and there's a outdoor bar/restaurant next door.

We stayed in H4 two bedroom cottage the ones closest to the road on the 2nd floor. There was only one TV (none in the bedrooms), you had to go through one of the bedrooms to access the only bathroom which is really awkward. For a two bedroom place there should be a common entrance to the only bathroom also none of the interior doors lock. There were no pots, pans, or other items provided for the efficiency kitchen and when inquiring at the front desk they said they stock it at the beginning of the season but items get stolen and are not replaced. We ended up buying a set of pans, knives, and coffee cups from a local shop so we could use the kitchen. So if you plan on using the kitchen in your cottage you may want to bring some things from home. Being that this cottage is at the far side of the property you would think a dedicated parking space for those staying in H4 and H5 would make sense but there was no such accommodation. The lot nearest the cottage was first come first serve with several spaces dedicated to Castle in the Sand management. The beds were supposed to be Queen size but we're more like full size beds. The stove looked like something straight out of 1960, and the sofa bed was so bad my oldest son decided to sleep on top. There were no blankets provided fir the sofa bed either. While there appear to have tried to make updated, the place still needs an upgrade. We also had siverfish bugs that would come out at night. While the location, pool, and Coconuts is great you are better off staying at an Air BNB its not that much more expensive. Just trying to save families the headache of booking this place with the wrong expectations.
