Surfin Betty’s Burger Bar

Stopped by Surfing Betty’s Burgers yesterday while in Ocean City. The food itself was really good. The burger was solid and the Old Bay fries were great. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired.

I sat at the counter next to a few locals, and it definitely felt like the employee behind the counter was much more engaged with them than with anyone else. He handed me a menu, took my drink order, and that was about it. No napkins, no condiments, and I ended up having to ask other customers to slide things down to me.

What really bothered me was that apparently fries were free that day, but that was never mentioned to me when I ordered. I paid extra for Old Bay fries because I didn’t know. Meanwhile, the customer next to me was told about the promotion when they walked in. Had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered them separately.

Between one burger, fries, and and tip, the total came out to around $28 for one person. For mediocre service, it just wasn’t worth it to me.

The food was good, but overall I won’t be returning. Others may have a different experience, but that was mine.

OC on a Tuesday in April can be tricky to find a burger at lunchtime - glad we happened upon Betty's. AMAZING! The vibe was so chill, the staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered the "jam good bacon burger" with onion rings (HEARTY portion). The burger was phenomenal! We also had the "BYOB burger" with fries and it was just as yummy! Definitely will return and bring the family next time!

First time and OMG THE BEST BURGERS EVER!! MARY took our order and she was very helpful and just made us feel right at home! Will definitely be back again. Both my fiance and I had the Betty’s burger delicious but next time I’m gonna try the bacon jam one and u have to try the blueberry soda and the shoestring hand cut fries so good! A must try when visiting the beach! Good thing I’m a local and will be back to try some of the other items on the menu very soon!!! Thank you SBBOC 🍔♥️♥️♥️🍔
