The Surf Villa Hotel has been a landmark in Ocean City since the 1920s. The hotel is conveniently located near the boardwalk and within walking distance to the amusement parks, shops, restaurants, marinas, and most of Ocean City's great attractions. One of our best features however, is that we are only 300 feet from one of the most magnificent beaches on the East Coast.

We invite you to enjoy the lovely ocean view from the rocking chairs on our front porch. Each morning we also invite you to join us in our family style lobby for coffee, tea, and conversation. We encourage a family atmosphere and welcome families, groups, and other organizations.

Each of our 25 rooms and our available apartment is unique in design, has a color TV with forty channels, and air conditioning. Our staff is available 24 hours to assist you and give you personalized attention.

You will surely enjoy staying at the Surf Villa. It is a clean and comfortable hotel which all visitors say has a personal touch.

The Quality Inn next door runs these villas. We love the QI and have frequented a handful of times. When you stay at their Villas, you have access to the Inn, which is a great perk.
But this year we chose to stay at a Villa, being dog friendly, which is a plus! We were upstairs, Villa 3.
These pictures on Google maps and on the Surf Villa website are dated…. When the Villas were new. They are def misleading!
The surf villas are now run down and in need of much landscaping. There were pave stones missing and uneven pavement, weeds overgrown, and NO backyard picnic table grass area behind as one photo indicates. There was a parking lot lamp fallen directly behind the place with glass broken all around.
It was not a nice/safe lot for having a dog, and there was barely any grass for the dog. But the QI next door has lots of grassy areas up in front of it.
The building was run down…. Not like the pics.
But inside it was ok with a somewhat stocked kitchen and plenty of towels. It was off season, so we assumed it would be fairly clean. It was mostly clean. Some places were dusty and the toilet had not been cleaned in a while… it was “not nice”.
The shower pressure is VERY low, so if you have long hair, rinsing out your hair will take a LONG time.
The bed was comfy and clean, the touch lamps were frustrating, but the off season weekday price was great, esp for a pet friendly place.
The blinds were broken and open in places… not private.
Lastly, one morning at 6:55 am we awoke to aggressively loud banging on the villa door below us, and saw housekeeping leaving the porch a moment later. It was not a “knock-knock, housekeeping…”, it was almost a persistent militant banging that shook our whole wall and caused us to at first think something violent was going on…. But alas, just housekeeping. After a short night of sleep and still very tired, we never got back to sleep.
So the Surf Villas were not the good experience we had at Quality next door.
Larger than the Inn rooms and more space for your dog, but the trashy outside, low water pressure, old furniture, broken blinds, and rude housekeeping kind of tainted the trip. But, the service at the hotel/QI and staff booking the room and assisting at front desk are always great!
One last note:
If you say the hot tubs and pools are open til 10 pm, please stop rudely badgering people to leave by 9:45… this happened consistently. They even drained the whirlpool while we were in it well before closing.

The atrium area is beautiful, the staff usually amazing, the atmosphere beautiful… we will be back, but not to the Villas.

Perfect so far as location. One block off the boardwalk and priced reasonably for the season, on the third row. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping is good. It's safe to leave things in your room. Cooled by window unit. Water pressure is fair (not their fault). They only provide soap. They do not even sell shampoo, toothbrushes, razors, or toothpaste at the front desk. The coke machine vends Soda that feels like it was sitting outside the Alamo in July. Overall, as a place to sleep, it is better than passable.

Very cute bed and breakfast feel hotel (without the breakfast). Staff was very nice and friendly with great conversation.

Our room was at the very top facing the bay direction. You don't get a view due to all the surrounding buildings but you are a two minute walk to the boardwalk which was great!

Our room was adorable. Very comfortable bed, although it was very noisy. Has a mini fridge and tv (you have to pay a fee to use tv)

Bathroom was very clean and well put together, although the shower was small, it was all we needed for a one night stay.

Free parking is in the back and extra parking is two blocks away. Sometimes the back lot fills up so you have to park in the extra parking but it's free parking. Regular parking is $2.00/ hour. I'm happy with walking two blocks.

We will definitely be coming back next vacation! Overall great experience!
