Sea Cove Motel

After seeing the other reviews, we were thinking, 'What did we get ourselves into?' But we were coming for the Boardwalk Rock and it was hard to find an affordable room close to the beach. The bed was nicely made, and the sheets were clean. The fridge and microwave were very clean too, as was the bathroom. The walk to the beach was two minutes. Other reviews claimed to hear sound from other rooms. The place was booked full, but we honestly didn't hear anything from other rooms, and that is amazing because I'm a light sleeper. Not a bad place to stay if you are in a pinch. Everything went well.

Stayed there from Friday May 16, 2025 to Monday May 19, 2025 during the Boardwalk Rock festival. We reserved a pet friendly room on Booking.com for 3 adults & 2 pets. When we checked in they had a young Indian boy working the counter who could not speak English well or do his job properly. We were lied to and told the pet fee was $26 and some change but he wasn't going to charge us for that, only the $100 security deposit. The day we checked out the property manager Matilda Gikuria was on duty, who wouldn't give us a final cost of the room. And when we tried to tell her about our horrible stay with no tv and a broken door knob all weekend, she proceeded to complain about the other employees she has to deal with that say they're don't their job but actually aren't. Blah, blah, blah, complain, complain, complain. You work there how many yrs now you said? 9? And you're still there?? Maybe it's because you're stealing money from people so it's very lucrative for you to stay employed there with no "real authority " to do anyting for you're customers except a discount on future stay. HA!! Who would want to stay again!?!? She finally told us how much the pet fee was $30 a day and they ended up charging us $99.90 pet fee, .01 for no one knows and $30 for extra person in room ($10.00 per day) tho we paid for 3 adults and had no one "extra" in the room. She said the boy did not charge us the $100 deposit. What I wanted to know was why we were charged extra? $9.90 for pet fee and $30 extra person fee. She blamed Booking.com and when she was supposed to go into the back office to call the owner to see if she could give us any refund, because she's not authorized to do anything other than give a future discount, SHE CALLED THE POLICE!! Nice end to our weekend vacation having to explain to cops the situation. And we never even got to address the ROACHES!! The female officer was able to get us the $30 extra person fee back but think if she does that to 1,000 people during the summer season? She's making herself an extra $30,000 per summer!!!! Guaranteed she charges that to any room with more than 2 people occupying!! Disgusting rip offs!!!!!

I am only giving one star because I had to write this horrible place, but the front desk had the nerve to tell me that I spent my money that I did not pay for a room and then I wanted to extend my stay and that I couldn’t because I’m not in the system and then somehow I didn’t pay for the room that I just had there was also a bunch of drunk people outside all night long and as a single woman with no working cameras in the building. I felt very unsafe. I will never stay here again.THE TRASH BAGS WOULDNT EVEN STAY UP THE TOWELS R LIKE NO Existent you could probably get better towels at the dollar store
