The Salisbury Zoological Park is committed to enhancing our quality of life by providing a friendly, relaxing environment where educational and recreational opportunities come together through participation and interaction. With its animals, staff, volunteers, and park-like setting, the zoo encourages an appreciation of wildlife and inspires conservation of our natural world.

The Salisbury Zoo, located in Salisbury, Maryland, was founded in 1954 when some animals were placed on permanent exhibition in the City Park. The Zoo’s present form resulted from improvements made in the 1970s. The Zoo now provides naturalistic enclosures for species native to North, Central and South America. The Salisbury Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. The Zoo’s policy is maintained by the Salisbury Zoo Commission, Inc. whose nine members are appointed by the Salisbury City Council. The Zoo is funded in-part by the Salisbury Zoo Commission and by the City of Salisbury.

Took my kids (7&9) over Spring break from Lewes, DE. They had a great time! A great variety of animals and took us about 90 minutes to walk throughout the park. The park was clean and well kept! Will definitely be back in the fall! 🐒🦅🦙🐻🦩

I attended in late May on a weekday in the afternoon. The park was free. All of the buildings were closed.
Most of the exhibits did seem to be on the smaller side which was disappointing, especially for animals like the Ocelot and Lynx which need space. A lot of the animals were inside until the weather was warmer (understandable). Overall it was a nice walk but I do wish they would put more effort into the animals having better conditions to live in.

Great experience, we loved the road trip stop here. For free admission, this zoo provided 30-60 minutes of walking/viewing pleasure, which is pretty solid. It definitely felt like they took care of their habitats, and it was a pleasant experience.
