DO NOT BOOK WITH OCEAN LODGE IN OCEAN CITY, MARYLAND
I booked this hotel through Booking.com over a month in advance and received a confirmation. A hold was placed on my card, and everything appeared to be in order. The day before check-in, I called the hotel to confirm my reservation and let them know I’d be arriving late. A gentleman answered the phone, looked up my booking, and reassured me that everything was confirmed and my late check-in was fine.
About an hour later, that same gentleman called me back and told me my reservation had been cancelled. He said it had been cancelled on June 25th, but I was never notified. No email. No text. No call. Nothing. I emailed him screenshots showing that my Booking.com app still showed my reservation as confirmed and active. He understood completely where I was coming from and was kind about it. He said the cancellation was out of his hands and that his manager was the one who made that decision. He told me she would call me back.
She never called, so I followed up and called again myself. That’s when I spoke directly to the manager, EVA. At first, she refused to give me her name, but I was eventually able to find it out. She gave me a vague explanation, saying someone else had booked directly through them, paid in full, and because I had booked through a third-party site and received a discounted rate, my reservation was pushed aside. She even told me, “They’re our client. You’re not.”
They were completely sold out for the July 4th weekend and offered no solution, no help. Booking.com had no idea the reservation had been cancelled and only found out when I informed them. They tried to help me rebook, but there were no similar options left. I had to make last-minute arrangements entirely on my own.
I did everything right. I booked early. I confirmed. I communicated. And I still got pushed out because someone else paid more. That is not how you treat paying guests, no matter how they booked.
DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL. Even with a confirmed reservation, they will cancel on you with ZERO notice if someone else comes along willing to pay more.
Save yourself the stress. Book somewhere else.

Ocean Lodge Hotel
Customer service was great and location too if you want to be close to downtown Ocean City. The room was extremely small though. It’s definitely not a place i would stay for a week. At least it was clean. Just didn’t get instructions for checkout and the office was closed when we left. Hopefully we don’t get charged.
