OC Rocket Speedboat

We signed up thinking "speedboat" would be a pretty fast ride. It was a normal boat ride speed wise for the entire cruise up and down the beaches until the last 5 mins. The "thrill" was a few spins that results in the people sitting by the edge to get a few splashes then we were headed back to the doc in our normal speed. The crew and captain don't speak except for a few short instructions in the beginning. My kids enjoyed being on the boat but we probably won't do this again.

The boat uses 50 gallons of diesel per hour which seems like a bit much for our planet at this point in time. It was a really enjoyable ride, $25 per, although I can't get that factoid out of my head.

My family and I have been coming here for about 5 years and have done the OC Rocket two or three times and we’ve had wonderful experiences. However this time was just purely awful. We had bought our tickets on Tuesday to go on the ride later in the evening, just to find out it was canceled because the water was to choppy, completely understandable. So, we got “rain check tickets” so we could come back and be able to go the boat. Almost all week after that they had kept canceling due to the weather. About a day ago we were at the beach and it was stormy and the waves were huge, and was foggy and rainy and we saw the OC Rocket out there. Fast forward to today and it’s a gorgeous day out, and they canceled the boat for all day because “it’s just to foggy”. Very confusing. It’s our last day here in Ocean City. So, we wanted a refund which we were told we couldn’t have because we don’t have our receipts of purchase. There is 5 of us including a 11 year old kid who was so excited to have a great experience. When we got our “rain check” tickets we were not told to keep our receipts and that if we wanted a refund we had to do it that day. We had paid over $100 all together, and the excuse was that because I had paid with card that even if I had my receipt, they wouldn’t have been able to refund my money anyway due to their machine clearing out every night. Absolutely TERRIBLE. In no time in this whole experience were we told to keep our receipts, and that if we wanted a refund that we had to do it the same day we purchased our tickets. There were many other people there who were just as frustrated and angry as my family was. My family is out over $100 and this was a very terrible, awful experience for a lot of people. Very sneaky on the businesses part. Be careful, they will cancel boat rides whenever they want even if it’s a beautiful day out and be sure to keep your receipts.
