La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

Pros: The rooms were nice sized, could easily sleep 6. Two queen beds and a fold out couch. And three chairs for sitting. The beds were a little too firm for my liking. The balcony is fun, I could see the beach from my room. But I can't imagine many rooms in the hotel can see the beach. The breakfast Sunday morning was pretty basic. The eggs were a bit dry, sausage links were okay, decent coffee. Waffles were good. The location of the hotel is great. Very close to food and attractions. There were a few arcade games nothing great but fun for bored kids.

Cons: The water pressure was horrible for a shower. The bathroom door did not close all the way or lock. The refrigerator did not work. The coffee maker in the room had sitting water in the machine I'm assuming for a while there was film and solids floating in the machine. Seen a mouse running around on the 1st floor, see photo.

Did not hate it there. I've stayed at better but have stayed at worse.

I’d say the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Upon arrival it didn’t seem bad, staff was really friendly check-in was easy. Halls were a bit messy, could use a good vacuum. I didn’t let that bother me much because I know it’s a busy place and front desk advised us they were short staff, I completely understood. Room looked decent upon entering, curtains could use a good cleaning as well as the floors. Blankets weren’t dirty but they were old and dated. Overall it seemed decent for the price we paid. AC worked perfectly fine, it’s eco friendly so if your balcony door is open then the AC turns off there is a sensor on the door; as long as the door was closed it stayed nice and cool. The hotel is pet friendly which was no big deal but nobody cleaned up after the pets, there was dog urine In front of the elevator all day and night and was still there in the morning (pet owners responsibility to clean after their pets, hotel staff shouldn’t have let it sit so long). I was enjoying my time there with no real big issues until the next morning I wake up, walk to the bathroom and turn the light on saw a bug dart across the floor and when I went to kill it realized it was a cockroach. Completely threw me off and ruined my vacation; emptied all my suitcases and bags, cleaned them all very well, shook all my items out and repacked and took them right to my car. Pool area was pretty filthy as well. I will never stay at a La Quinta hotel again this one completely ruined it for me. They seriously need to shut down; remodel and do a really nice deep clean and get a really good exterminator. I left a day earlier than planned I was uncomfortable and couldn't take another night in this place.

Gabby at the front desk is fabulous!! She has great customer service skills. Very outgoing and friendly. Thanks Gabby. Hotel is in a great location. A block from the beach with everything you need close by. Small market across the street. Bars and liquor stores near by and a restaurant attached to the hotel. Definitely would stay here again
