We have been coming to this hotel for the past 15 years. When we arrived on Friday, February 20th, the hotel was closed for rennovations. It's fine that the hotel was closed, but we were not informed of it prior to arriving. When we called to ask what happened to our room, we were sent to the hotel next door. The room was a worse than the type of room that we had originally booked (a corner suite with a jacuzzi) and was a lot cheaper, but we were not compensated for the difference in costs. Instead, when we tried to call back again, we were brushed off and told to talk to our third party, since it wasn't "their problem". We still needed them to authorize the third party to get our money back, but they kept pushing us off. This all happened 10PM at night after we had driven 4 hours to get there. There was no prior communication to inform us that rennovations were happening. Had we known, we could've taken care of it weeks prior before leaving on our holiday. I am very disappointed about how we were treated, especially since this was an annual holiday our family has been making for the past 15 years. Luckily the Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites was able to accomodate us with a comparable room and better serviec.

Room was wonderful and you can’t beat the ocean view. We got a jacuzzi corner room. Probably will avoid in the future, mostly because the jacuzzi is in the same room as the bed and thus everything is tile floor. In the winter.. it’s cold on ya feets! But this isn’t a downstage for the hotel - just personal preference. I did think the chairs needed replacing.. ours had some weird circular stains on it and it just looked pretty worn in general. Otherwise our stay was marvelous and check-in/check-out was seamless. Will return.

This was the first year we were here with the heated outdoor pool open and it was a HUGE HIT! The BEST part of our stay. We usually come down the day after Thanksgiving every year for the weekend with other family members. The front desk said the pool is usually closed by now. You guys should really consider keeping it open for most of December and advertising that and the winterfest of lights. You guys would probably make a killing. The rooms are amazing with full kitchens, a table (great for puzzles) and a living room area. I had many people reach out to me and ask me where I was because swimming outside in November is unheard of. We are always impressed with our stay here at 17th street :)
