Greene Turtle Apparel Shop on 116th

On a cold winter day, a group of 14 showed up for lunch. Given it is the off-season, there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. It truly is a sports bar with great decor, and lots of TV to watch your sport.

Jean was the bartender and also waited on our table. It’s an understatement, but she was fantastic! A positive attitude, helpful to everyone, and just really did an incredible job. She really hustled to get us our drinks, get us our food, and get us back on the road to our activities.

For lunch I had the cheeseburger sliders. Served on a pretzel bun, they were delicious. Many in our group opted for warmer, filling items, like Marvin’s chili, and Maryland crab soup. Lots others had burgers and a few salads. Everyone left satisfied for the delicious meal and the great service.

The restaurant has lots of seating area, including an area upstairs. In addition, there is a large bar. While it is not busy now due to being off-season, I’m sure this place is hopping during the summer.

So if you are in the area stop on by. Have a drink or even a meal, and enjoy the atmosphere.

Atmosphere was great for a sportbar. Lots of TVs. Place was full but Got seated right away.

As for the food and service, not so great. Waitress was fine stopping by at the beginning but barely saw her after she took our order and food took forever to come out. I understand they were busy but the table next to us got there stuff before us and they sat down 15 min after us.

Two of us ordered wings (one hot one mild) and two ordered nachos. They loved the wings but myself and a friend had the nachos (one chicken/one pork) . They were really bad. No flavor in the meat or cheese for either. Chips and meat were clumped. We said something to the waitress but that’s about all that happened

Just for reference, I had nachos the next day at the local bar and they were excellently flavored. Both meat and cheese.

I’d avoid that place in the future.

Definitely a must visit. Very good menu with a wide variety of options. The street corn dip was excellent and their take on chicken and waffles was fantastic. The best part was the service, we did have a problem with one meal but the waitress took it back no questions asked and it was replaced quickly with something else. Fixing problems often is just as important (or more) than not making them and they did great.
