From the team behind Red Red Wine Bar, Brian and Lisa Bolter have created a modern industrial nod to that Prohibition history. DRY 85 is a back alley garage. A roughhewn space. A 21st century embrace of that outlaw culture created once congress did the unthinkable. Making the simple joy of drinking well … illegal. If the 18th Amendment was still the law of the land today, DRY 85 is where you would sneak a bourbon, beer or gourmet comfort food meal.

I was a bit disappointed because this place looked very promising. My seasonal Old Fashion and Manhattan both were a three. Both missing the expertise and small touches of craft cocktails the flight and general bourbon selection was great. Food was just ok mixing again the small things to push over top. Mac and cheese had one seasoned shrimp with sprinkles of frozen unflavored.

Great bourbon selection, we recognized so many options that you can't find anywhere else including the Van Winkle Family Reserve and 2017 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection which you can only order as a flight. We ordered the Old Fitzgerald 10 year (1 oz ) pour. Our bartender Ethan was very helpful and had a great attitude, and so did the other people working there. We will definitely come back again on our next visit to Ocean City Maryland.

When the stakes are this high in Ocean City with tons of options, Dry 85 was subpar.
We ordered the spicy street corn tots and fried pickles for apps. Ribs were tasty and the Dry 85 burger was good. The chicken and waffles were very dry (maybe that’s why they named it Dry 85) and the shrimp and grits were bland and watery.
Ending on a positive were the drinks and service. Ethan was our server and he was polite. Drinks ordered were a couple of old fashions, Pinot Grigio and the “Sage is just a number”. I would have ordered my go to, espresso martini, but with our experience, I didn’t have the confidence in ordering hoping that it would be good.
Might need to try the Annapolis location, but overall, would not return.
