Carolina Street Garden & Home is the result of a snap decision made by Dee Dee Phillips' in spite of thirty successful years selling high end antiques. Beginning her career after university with a degree in interior design, she worked briefly selling the "Vincent Price Collection" of antiques and art, and then in business with her husband. Even with the highs of exhibiting in many of the most prestigious antiques shows in the country and designing a room in the Westport Connecticut Showhouse for Martha Stewart, she still needed something to make her soul laugh and her heart sing. Years of using her well trained eye to select special pieces one at a time in the antiques business became a habit and has carried over to her superb selections for the store.
The store began modestly and in a mad rush on July 1st 1992 and has grown to include not only special gifts and garden accoutrements, but a whimsical, dazzling and eclectic gallery of beautiful home furnishings. Custom slip covered furniture, chandeliers and lamps, one of a kind art objects-folk and studio pieces both, all sport a certain flair and sense of fun that is her signature delighting customers from California to Maine to the British West Indies.

I drive to Carolina Street every beach trip for a lovely souvenir at fantastic prices. Paul and Dee Dee offer exceptional service in the loveliest setting. Their shop is a treasure - a still life everywhere you look. Gorgeous originals by outstanding artists.

Looking for beautiful things? This is the place to explore for quality items curated with a discerning eye. We were searching for fun things and saw the reviews here. This is a step above, ok several steps above, the boardwalk tourist items in so many OC shops. I want them to decorate my house!
