Breakers Hotel
This hotel is the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at in OC, MD. Our room was spotless and loved the ocean front room. I have several pros and cons for this particular hotel and they are as follows.
Pros: The incredible staff. Everyone is so nice and always acknowledge us and ask us if we needed anything We had an incident where our air conditioner quit working. We went to the office and were greeted by two of the nicest women who went out of the way to help us. I believe Darrin is the lady who came to our room to check the thermostat which was no longer working. She said she would report it and have someone come in the morning to see what the problem was. Darrin left our room and came back shortly after with a fan to help keep us cool for the night. She offered us an apologia for the inconvenience for not being able to move us to another room as the hotel was full. Now for the cons:
Cons: The next morning my husband went to the front desk to inquire about a maintenance person coming to fix the ac. He was greeted by a Mrs. Gibbs who was rude and very nasty to him and insinuated that we somehow caused the air conditioner to freeze up. She also said we needed to leave it alone and didn't have any idea when the repairman would be there. Lucky for us he came early that morning and spent a few hours working on the ac and told us the problem was the thermostat had burned up and he replaced it. We told him how we were treated by this Mrs. Gibbs and what she had said. He showed us the thermostat and said it was in no way our fault that it was an old one and sooner or later they all need to be replaced. We never received an apology from this rude woman or even a check to see if everything was ok. You can tell she has no respect for the customers or her employees.
I would like to mention also how very nice Barbara was when we returned the fan. She ask us if the ac was running and if we were cool enough. We stayed at this hotel from Sunday to Friday and we loved everything about the hotel. When we checked out early Friday morning we were greeted by Denise another extremely helpful employee. She asked us how are stay had been and we told her we would be returning for a longer stay next summer. The entire staff is wonderful and hard working. They make this hotel a pleasure to stay. I do feel sorry for those who have to work with this rude and nasty person who claimed to put so much money into this hotel leading us to believe she must be the owner. I think a smile and a pleasant attitude towards the customers and the employees would be appreciated by all. You're only as good as the people around you. They can make or break you. Having said all this we look forward to our vacation next summer and hope that we will be greeted with the same happy customer service we received this year. Thank you Darrien, Barbara and Denise your the best.

Employees are very rude and nasty. We commented on strange Oder coming from our room, Almost smell of mold or mildew. we politely asked if there was another room available, to that she proceeded to angrily say there was nothing she can do and that they where just changing the filters. When changed the smell was not better. Along with that furniture and room is outdated, ice machine was growing mold, and there was trash left from a previous visitor

This is literally my first ever Google Review, that's how disgusted I am with the service & hotel staff. Day 1, walk into a room that is fresh out of 1962, with a 18" TV set & rock-hard beds. No biggie. Day 3 A/C breaks. We go down to the lobby, to inform the staff. "We will send a maintenance crew as soon as possible". No AC followed for the next two days, and we toughed it as we weren't in the hotel that often. Here's the point:-- When checking out, we politely asked for a partial refund as we had two nights of sweaty sleep. The immediately combative older woman (supposed manager) tells us they made another room arrangement & that it was OUR responsibility as guests to chase them down to get a status update. I just got off the phone with the same completely inappropriate "manager" who once again became combative when I suggested that they whom had our phone numbers on file, should've reached out to inform us of the change in rooms are responsible for a partial refund since they did not accommodate us for their dumpy hotel's shortcomings. She once again became combative placing blame on the CUSTOMER! If you've stayed in a remotely decent hotel before this lack of hospitality will irritate you, more than your lack of sleep on those rock-solid beds.
