Poorly maintained, mold in rooms
Pros:
- location: we loved how close it was to the boardwalk, just a 15 minute walk to the inlet.
- Great setup for a group, we got two rooms next to each other and appreciated the exterior door and private porch just for our two rooms. It was a great layout for going between the rooms and hanging out.
- Aside from some spiders there weren’t any bugs that we could see.
Con’s:
- It is clear this property is not being properly maintained. There was a large amount of mold in the bathroom and it felt like the place was falling apart in general. The flooring was clearly done as cheaply as possible and there are many large gaps. The paint and woodwork on the window in the shower was falling apart. There were many stains throughout the unit. The pullout couches were dirty and uncomfortable.
- I tried several times over my two night stay to go to the office to talk to someone about this and the office was empty every time I went in.
I really wanted to like this motel because of the layout and location but I don’t think I will be staying here again until they clean the place up.

We stayed at the Blue Wave Inn during the Oceans Calling event, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. Upon arriving, we discovered that our A/C unit was broken. While the thermostat read 68°F, it was only blowing warm air, and our room felt like 80°F with high humidity.
To make matters worse, there was no one available at night to help us with the issue. The next morning at 9:00 a.m., we informed the one staff member on site about the broken unit. He said he would “look into it.” After waiting a couple of hours and following up post-breakfast, we got the same response: he’d “look into it.” He then told us to wait in the office until the employee who was supposed to be working the desk showed up, but by 2 p.m., nobody was there. Instead of addressing the A/C issue, the guy responsible was busy selling the motel’s parking spots for $60 each to people attending the Oceans Calling event.
Finally, around 2:30 p.m., someone showed up at the desk. When I explained our situation again, they assured me that someone would look at it. I asked if we could switch rooms since the A/C clearly wasn’t getting fixed, but I was told the motel was fully booked. However, the staff member had keys to what looked like 20 different rooms, making me doubt that claim.
By the time we returned later that night, nothing had been done to fix the A/C. In fact, we had unplugged the unit earlier in the day, and it was still unplugged when we got back—showing it hadn’t even been touched.
Overall, the service was incredibly disappointing. The staff seemed more interested in making money from parking spots than helping guests, and the lack of action on a basic issue like a broken A/C ruined what could have been a much more enjoyable stay. Would not recommend.

Worse place I’ve stayed in ocean city. First off check in is until midnight so we got checked in at almost 10pm, we stayed on the second floor, I have children and we were trying to relax and feed my kids etc and just because my 3 and 4 year old ran a bit the people under us started banging super hard on the walls it was ridiculous. I understand there’s a quiet time but they clearly saw us get there late, so why not have a little patience while we accommodated ourselves. We had no towels in the bathroom, no extra shampoo just 1 tiny bottle, the beds were dirty and stained, the bathroom floor was messed up and when you walked in the room it would make so much noise so how were we suppose to be quiet if the place is old and not well maintained. The front desk how ever was nice I told them the situation and she was willing to offer us another room downstairs but unfortunately we were really upset and disappointed and we left, we didn’t even stay until our last day for check out. Most definitely not coming here. Sadly I didn’t read the reviews until I had booked.
