Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Residence Inn by Marriott

We went for a tour to have our wedding here and this was one of our favorite venues. I cannot say enough great things about the special events manager Theresa Bell. This woman is excellent with communication even on her days off, and truly cares about the couples she works with. We ultimately decided to go a different route with our wedding but we felt like the Marriott went above and beyond our expectations with views, location, and service. Theresa is absolutely amazing and if you're interested in this place for your wedding venue don't hesitate to reach out!

The location is perfect, and the service is good. This trip there seemed to be a lot of cranky people and all the marriott members handled them all so well. People can be so rude but kudos to the team for not flinching. As far as the stay, we had to go to the desk about 3 times in 5 days for towels. The pool didn't have towels, our room was cleaned once during our stay and that's because we asked if that was unusual.

I would discourage anyone that is considering becoming a Marriott Vacation club owner or a rewards member from the program. You are actually treated more Poorly being an owner or loyal customer. Management at this property is very poor. Spoke with a manager, Jessica, was told that the general manager would be getting back to me. Followed up three separate times over 10 days. Couldn’t get a return phone call. On my last attempt, she gave me an email address for the general manager. He obviously didn’t want to speak to me and instead replied to my email. Offering no resolution to my problem or even be willing to speak to me or help me. Marriott system is completely flawed. Instead of rewarding loyalty, it is almost used against you. Points are very difficult to use . Even when there is plenty of inventory, your points Aren’t of value. They would much prefer being able to make a few dollars from customers who don’t have status or aren’t loyal. Every time I stay at the Hilton property with a friend, I’m treated so much better. If I could go back, I would never become a vacation club or Bonvoy point holder Because Management like I experienced at this property. It’s time and time again.
