This restaurant is extremely popular, with a 45-minute wait when we visited. Without a designated waiting area, everyone waits outside in the parking lot. Despite the wait, it's absolutely worth it! The food is fantastic, and the customer service was excellent even during the busy period. This is one of the best seafood spots I’ve ever visited, and I've been to many.
At $100 for two adults, the meal was worth every penny. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. They also offer complimentary hush puppies and free refills. If you've never been to a place like this, be prepared to eat with your hands and getting a bit messy, but they have sinks available to wash your hands. I will definitely return when I'm in Ocean City.
I would recommend the “Steamer Pot”
At $100 for two adults, the meal was worth every penny. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. They also offer complimentary hush puppies and free refills. We were vacationing and took a side trip to Ocean City, Maryland. Could not find a place to eat no matter how much we scoured the internet. All the places were either fine dining, closed, or not the right "feel". We decided to just drive and sight-see, and if a place came up that looked right we would stop. BINGO! (angels singing) There it was, Higgins Crab House! I yelled for my husband to stop and we pulled in. Looked like we were in the right place at the right time.
Higgins is a rustic seafood eatery. You know the kind. The places with seafaring decor, brown paper on the tables, and buckets with rolls of paper towels in them. I could not believe they had fish & chips baskets. I had been craving that and could find it nowhere. This was a giant piece of cod with a light batter and deep fried. Oh my goodness. It was crispy and steaming hot, with tender flaky fish. The french fries were equally good, as was the Cole slaw. We both ordered corn on the cob which was perfection, and steamed in the husk. My husband had a seafood pasta bowl with marinara sauce. He loved it.
When we first sat down, our waitress brought out 4 hot hush puppies. I don't like hush puppies. Or so I thought. These smelled and tasted almost like donuts, and seemed to be a cross between a donut and hush puppy, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Magical...
Everyone was so friendly, and this turned out to be a wonderfully enjoyable stop. Too bad we live in Ohio, because this is the kind of place I would frequent.

We went here for the very first time today for family dinner on Easter. We had the pleasure of having Matt as our server, he provided us with amazing service and did it with a smile on his face the entire time. He never hesitated to run to grab us crabs, refills, etc. He checked on us constantly to make sure that we didn’t need anything. He was such a pleasant server and made our experience top tier. The food and drinks were also very good. We got the all you can eat snow crabs and blue crabs and they were very good. Highly recommend this place and their staff.
