Whether you’re visiting or live in town, supporting the area’s local businesses is always important! There’s never a wrong time to shop around and check out the unique products at boutiques, surf shops, antiques, and more. In Ocean City, downtown Berlin’s Main Street, the town of Snow Hill, and Pocomoke City you can refresh your wardrobe with trendy styles, pick up souvenirs for your loved ones, and shop for home decor!

All of Maryland’s Coast towns have local events year-round for the family. The holidays are a great time to visit with tree lightings, merry marketplaces, and the popular Winterfest of Lights. If you’re looking for something to do after the holidays, Worcester County Library branches have various events including weekly group activities, crafts, stories, games, and more.

If you’re a history buff, there’s no shortage of places to explore and things to learn about on Maryland’s Coast. The rich history is preserved in places like the OC Life Saving Station with Ocean City history and exhibits about the OC Life-Saving Service. The Julia A. Purnell Museum in Snow Hill dives into the history of slavery on the eastern shore and shows a glimpse of what life was like in the town, 300 years ago. Just because there are fewer people in town, it doesn’t mean that all of your favorite bars and restaurants are closed for the season! There is still plenty of nightlife to be found in Ocean City at Seacrets, Fagers, and downtown bars like Pickles Pub. The coolest small town of Berlin is always a blast with Burley Oak Brewery and delicious, high-quality restaurants like the Sterling Tavern and Blacksmith. Book an igloo for a winter wonderland winery experience at Windmill Creek Winery or head to Snow Hill for live entertainment and events at Oaked 110 Whiskey & Wine Bar, and Tides & Vine. The parks, waterfront trails, and beaches on Maryland’s Coast can’t be beat! One of the best things to do this time of year is to bundle up and spend time outdoors. A brisk walk on the boardwalk is a blast when the crowds aren’t around and waves on a windy winter day can be breathtaking. Pocomoke River State Park, Byrd Park in Snow Hill, Herring Creek Nature Park, and Assateague State Park are just a few of the wonderful hiking and biking spots that people of all ages can enjoy.
