The Air Show is Flying Into Ocean City!

The Air Show is Flying Into Ocean City!

The Ocean City Air Show is finally taking flight this weekend, August 15th through the 16th in OCMD! Don’t miss the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds headlining this classic event, where three U.S. Air Force fighter jets demonstration teams will also perform! The Ocean City Air Show is one of the first air shows to ever feature the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lighting II, and A-10 Thunderbolt II at the same event!

Are you coming to town to enjoy the show, or staying home and watching live? Read on to see how these years viewing experience will be a bit different

Viewing the OC Air Show

In order to stay compliant with the State of Marylands COVID-19 safety measures and procedures, the 2020 OC Air Show will be a little different compared to years past. These changes include eliminating the traditional infrastructure on the beach between 13th and 17th St., the ticketed viewing area, the parachute landing zone, and the sound system. This is to eliminate the ‘live audience areas’ per guidance from the State.

To make up for the subtractions on the beach, the Air Show is going virtual and investing in live-stream that is comparable to watching a football game on TV! The live stream broadcast will feature multiple cameras, pilot interviews, and so much more. Offering unique angles of the event, and 360-degree views.

No matter where you’re viewing the OC Air Show this year, you’ll be sure to be engaged and immersed in the experience! In the same respect, both the F-22 and F-35 teams with the U.S. Air Force have agreed to extend their “non-aerobatic passes” through North Ocean City, allowing spectators up and down the 10-miles of Ocean City beach and coastline experience an up-close view of the Air Show.

Important Reminder: If you are planning on viewing the OC Air Show from the beach or Boardwalk, please remember that masks are required on the boardwalk for those over the age of five from 8 am to 2 am, per Mayor Meehan’s July 31st declaration. Masks are optional on the beach as long as you are distancing from others.
