Memorial Day in Ocean City, MD

Memorial Day in Ocean City, MD

The 3-day weekend leading into Memorial Day is traditionally the kick-off to the summer in Ocean City. The lifeguards return to their stands, the water is cool but not too cold, and summer is just getting started. During these strange times, we’re all looking to add a bit of normalcy back to our schedules and routines.

Consider visiting Ocean City this Memorial Day to start your summer right! We know you’re wondering what’s open, so allow the local experts at ExploreOC to guide you through a safe summer in OCMD!

Ocean City Beach and Boardwalk

As Ocean City continues to reopen in the wake of Governor Hogan lifting the state’s stay-at-home order (effective May 15th at 5 pm) we are so happy to finally announce that our beach and boardwalk are ready for you!

You may now enjoy the beach and boardwalk for relaxation and lounging, or exercise. Please remember to practice social distancing, and although a mask is not required on the beach or boardwalk, you may be required to wear one when entering any restaurant or building.

If you can’t come to enjoy the views in person, the next best thing is to view our gorgeous beach and bay via our OC live cams. Click here to check them out for yourself!

Ocean City Restaurants Open

At Explore OC, we are proud to be part of a community that has banded together during this difficult time, in an effort to fight for a return to normalcy. In doing so, we have seen many of our local restaurants, bars, and eateries open for carry-out and delivery in a way that keeps their employees, and their customers, safe.

This Memorial Day weekend, consider supporting our local economy and choose a local restaurant when placing your orders! Check out our complete and updated list of restaurants that are open for carry-out or delivery HERE

Pro Tip: Pick up your order and bring a blanket to enjoy a scenic picnic at the beach! But please remember to dispose of your trash responsibly, and leave only your footprints.

Ocean City Hotels and Rentals

Following Governor Hogan lifting the state’s stay-at-home order, the Mayor of Ocean City announced an amended declaration allowing Ocean City hotels, motels, and rentals to resume operations, effective Thursday, May 14th at 5 pm. This means that our hotels, motels, and rentals are ready for you! Enjoy a week in the sunshine this Memorial Day weekend while relaxing at your home away from home, OCMD!
