Get Salty for Margarita Day in Ocean City

Get Salty for Margarita Day in Ocean City

Frozen or on the rocks? That’s the question you’ll be hearing this Thursday, Feb. 22 because not only is it President’s Day, it is also National Margarita Day!

Tequila Mockingbird on 129th St., “home of the famous margarita,” seems like the perfect place to celebrate National Margarita Day. Since this year falls on a Thursday, make the most of Fajita Night! To compliment your margarita they are offering $9.50 chicken, steak or mushroom fajitas, and $11.75 shrimp fajitas. Don’t forget to try the fishbowl margarita, locals and visitors all agree it’s the best!

Mother’s Cantina on 28th St. offers half-priced rail drinks and beers every Thursday night, so if you’re looking for the Mexican-style restaurant to celebrate the National holiday, but don’t want to indulge in tequila, Mother’s may be your go-to. Regardless, Mother’s Cantina is known for their delicious traditional margarita, organic and sweetened with agave nectar.

You can always enjoy your margarita--salt, no salt, however, you may like it--on the water at Seacrets! The band Opposite Directions, a local acoustic rock duo, will be playing on the Tiki Stage from 5-8pm.

As far as finding the best margarita in town goes…

we just-so-happen know a few places!

With Tequila Mockingbird and Mother’s Cantina ranking at the top, Longboard Cafe is also known for their award-winning margaritas. Their menu consists of ten “shaken & stirred” margaritas, so you’re guaranteed to find the perfect one for your taste buds. They were even the 2017 winner in the Best of Ocean City competition for Best Drinks!

Liquid Assets on 93rd St. is always a great spot for drinks, but don’t let their extensive wine selection fool you! Ask your bartender for a margarita this Thursday and you won’t be disappointed.

Pro-tip: Tequila doesn’t always have to go with Mexican-style foods! Head over to Crab Bag on 130th St. for snow crab legs (or try one of their eight fajita platters if that’s what you’re really feeling) and a delicious, mouthwatering margarita. Stick to the traditional frozen lime cocktail, or get creative and try one of their strawberry, mango or pomegranate infused margaritas!

Wherever you end up celebrating National Margarita Day this Thursday, listen to a little Jimmy Buffett, daydream of summertime and drink up! (responsibly)
