Celebrate New Year’s Day by “getting wet for a good cause!” Head into Ocean City, Maryland and kick off the New Year with the 26th Annual Penguin Swim! The Penguin Swim will take place on New Years Day when hundreds of participants will jump into the chilly Atlantic Ocean off 91st Street to benefit Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.
The Penguin Swim is a fun, annual event, that benefits the local, not-for-profit community hospital. Each year, hundreds of Penguins utilize individual and team fundraising efforts to help Atlantic General Hospital continue to provide excellent, quality care to the local community. Business sponsors also help to make the Penguin Swim a success, as the Penguin Swim is one of the largest fundraisers in support of the Atlantic General Hospital mission.
Event day check-in and registration will begin at 10:00 am and ends at 12:30 pm in the Premier Lobby in the lower level of the Princess Royale Hotel, with games taking place in the Atrium on the second floor. The swim will begin at 1:00 pm on the beach. All swimmers must register either online or in-person, and check-in to receive a wristband in order to gain access to the Swim Area.
Awards will be given to the individuals and teams who raise the most money. Awards will also be given to the best costume, and the oldest and youngest Penguins will receive special recognition. Registration is $25 per swimmer, and all registered swimmers will receive an official 2020 Penguin Swim t-shirt!
Advance check-in and registration will also be available from 2-4:00 pm on New Yera’s Eve at the Princess Royale in the Premier Lobby. Those who pre-register will be eligible for incentive prizes. This year, the goal is to raise $80,799 for the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation, currently, $29,037 have been raised, check the Penguin Swim website frequently for updates!
