 N CLUB and SUNSET MARINA in OCEAN CITY\, MARYLAND. Marlins for\nMason 
 is a 501(c)(3) non-profit marlin release tournament benefiting\nthe Dravet
  Syndrome Foundation.\n\nMIGHTY MASON PRATHER [https://marlinsformason.com
 /] is a beloved\n7-year-old member of the Ocean City fishing community wh
 o lives with\nDravet Syndrome\, a rare\, catastrophic\, and lifelong form 
 of epilepsy\nthat significantly affects all aspects of life. Mason suffers
  from\nfrequent severe and prolonged seizures\, developmental delays\, and
  has\nfeeding and mobility issues.\n\nDuring his brief life\, he has had h
 undreds of seizures\, innumerable ER\nvisits\, and frequent hospitalizatio
 ns. The treatments are both limited\nand ineffective\, and nearly a quarte
 r of children with Dravet Syndrome\ndie before adulthood. Currently\, ther
 e is no cure for this\nlife-shattering condition.\n\nBecause Dravet Syndro
 me is rare\, very little money is spent on\nresearch. The DRAVET SYNDROME
  FOUNDATION\n[https://marlinsformason.com/] is dedicated to finding bette
 r\ntreatment options and someday\, a cure. We launched Marlins for Mason\n
 to help find a cure and raise awareness in honor of Mason and the\nothers 
 who suffer from this calamitous condition.\n\nIn 2025\, MARLINS FOR MASON
  donated $682\,550 to the Dravet Syndrome\nFoundation. This was once ag
 ain the largest donation they have ever\nreceived. In less than two years 
 Marlins for Mason had donated\nover $1.5 MILLION DOLLARS to the Dravet S
 yndrome Foundation\,\nindependently funding three large research projects
  through DSF.\n\nThe money raised through Marlins for Mason in 2024 funded
  a\ntransformational science grant at the Allen Institute to test a\npoten
 tial new gene therapy for Dravet Syndrome that would directly\ntarget impa
 cted brain cells _“Circuit Selective Whole SCN1A Gene\nDelivery for Dra
 vet Syndrome.”_\n\nIn 2023\, Marlins for Mason funded _“Therapeutic b
 enefit of MGE\nprogenitor cell transplantation in a rabbit model of Dravet
 \nsyndrome”_ also looking at potential future treatment options for\nDr
