Ocean City Film Festival 2018

Ocean City Film Festival 2018

Over 100 films and artists from all over the world are coming to town March 9th-11th for Ocean City’s Second Annual Film Festival!

Last year’s Film Festival took place June 8th-11th, and although it was a successful event during the summer season, the festival has moved to the off-season in order to better accommodate to filmmakers and simulate the local economy during one of its slower months.

Throughout the three days, short films, documentaries, comedies, horror films, music videos and more will be shown at Princess Royale Hotel, Clarion Resort and Fox Gold Coast Theater.

Purchasing a $50 ticket gives you a three-day all-access pass for the opening and closing parties, or there is a $10 ticket available for one-day pass. Click here to purchase tickets or view the full list of films and screening times.

Head over to the opening reception at the Arts Center on 94th St. Friday, March 9th for hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar and meet-and-greets with some of the festival’s artists and filmmakers who have come from across the world! During the festival weekend, the Arts Center will also host several workshops on filmmaking.

Once all of the films have been shown, a panel of judges will present awards including a judge’s choice, audience choice, and an award for the film that is most reflective of Maryland life.

This festival is close to home in more ways than one, created by Stephen Decatur High School and Towson University graduate William Strang-Moya, Towson University graduate Kristin Helf and executive director of the Art League of Ocean City, Rina Thaler. It is sponsored by the Town of Ocean City and Art League of Ocean City.

While hundreds of films were submitted to the producers, the 100 “best-fit” films for the festival were selected to be featured. As the Art League of Ocean City aims to bring visual arts to the community, the festival does just that and more. Enjoy various genres from filmmakers of every background with unique, diverse films at this year’s Ocean City Film Festival!
